The Schroon Lake Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors a number of events throughout the year to help promote our local businesses directly and indirectly. Some of our major chamber-sponsored events are below with information on each.
Annual Holiday Decorating Contest - Dec. 12, 2014
First place prizes awarded in the following residential home categories: 1) Most Traditional or Adirondack Style 2) Most Creative Display of Lights 3) Most Creative Themed Display. First, Second and Third place prizes will be awarded to businesses. Judges will tour main streets of town in the late afternoon/early evening of Friday, Dec. 12, 2014. 29th Annual Olde Tyme Christmas Celebration - Dec. 13, 2014
Daytime Activities include Church Bazaar at the Schroon Lake Community Church, a Holiday Basket Raffle at the Chamber, and a Craft and Underground Food Bazaar. Evening Festivities begin at 5:30 pm with the lighting of the Town Christmas Tree in Fountain Park, a Living Nativity Procession, and the Arrival of Santa at The Strand Theater at 6:00 pm. Musical performances will be taking place in locations around the village as well as other activities including Wagon Rides, Children's Crafts and Cupcake Decorating.
Schroon Lake Opening Weekend - May 23-25, 2015
Our fourth annual opening weekend will include multiple components including live music, restaurant specials, garage sales, and activities for all ages including free community yoga.
4th of July Spectacular - July 4, 2015
An annual event for many years, Schroon Lake's Independence Day celebration is one of the biggest and best in the Adirondacks. Festivities begin at 11am and include bands and other entertainment in the Town Park, a parade on Main St. at 6:00 pm, and a patriotic concert at the beach followed by a spectacular fireworks display over Schroon Lake.
Labor Day Street Dance - September 5, 2015
Schroon Lake residents make one last splash before the end of the summer season by closing off Main Street for a family-fun street dance with a live band beginning at 7:00 pm.
